Big six search
Bill Oddie has been to Dorset a lot, but despite it being home of Britain's 'Big Six' reptiles, he has never seen one. So he's off to try and find some sand lizards in the dunes. He finds footprints in the sand. Lizards come out when it warms up, as they need energy from the sun. Bill spots a lizard and thinks it might be a male sand lizard, because it has a greenish colour. But he checks his guide books and realises it was a common lizard. He tries again and this time he does find a sand lizard, which is a much more vivid green than the common. Despite the bright green colour it is well camouflaged.
