As the sun sets there are strange goings on down in the marsh at Wicken Fen: Bill Oddie is helping to set up a moth trap. They'll come back in the morning to see what has been caught and when they do they find several species. A peppered moth flies off, but they look at a poplat hawk moth which is quite large and is camouflaged to hide in trees. Another moth looks like a little twig from a silver birch tree - it is called the buff tip. The privet hawk moth has bright colours to flash at predators. The elephant hawk moth is quite small - it gets its name from its caterpillar which is reputed to look like an elephant. The lappet moth looks like a cluster of beech leaves. The eyed hawk moth has blue-ish eye markings on its lower wings. Bill votes the buff tip the 'moth of the day'.
