Contemporary and classical tracks from around the world with Mark Coles.
Join Mark Coles for half an hour of musical wanderings. This week World Of Music visits New Zealand for a couple of tracks from an excellent new album by Maori band, Wai. There's some grassland throat singing by Hanggai (pictured) from Inner Mongolia, a Peruvian song about dancing oil workers, something from female Algerian guitar player Hasna El Becharia, an East Timorese song that deals with the recent conflict there, and a song by a Senegalese singer that espouses the joy of double-decker bus travel in London.
