SAINTS ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN
Richard Taylor looks at a special medieval ceremony called churching, for mothers who had survived the ordeal of childbirth. Together with Dr Carole Rawcliffe he visits Ranworth Church in Norfolk and stands in front of a beautiful panel of female saints to whom women down the centuries have prayed to help them have a safe delivery and also to give thanks for a safe birth.
