Dorset carer fears government cuts

Don't take it out on the vulnerable - the message to the government this morning from a carer in Dorset who fears cuts to social services will leave her and thousands of others struggling to cope.

It's estimated that unpaid carers save the nation's economy some 拢87bn. Did you know that one-in-eight adults in the UK are carers? That's about six million people.

But Carers UK says it is under-funded and as more cuts are on the horizon...it's left many carers feeling ignored and invisible.

Jo Pearce from Portland has spent the last 19 years caring for her husband Busty, following a stroke and double leg amputation.
