Artificial Gills
Israeli scientist Alan Bodner has invented a way of capturing the dissolved oxygen in water which could allow humans the freedom to breathe underwater for hours at a time.
Using a centrifuge to spin the water, the oxygen naturally dissolved in water is released and collected in a special pump that the user can directly breathe. Science reporter Jem Stansfield explains the science behind the invention.
