Archaeologist and historian Richard Miles visits Tell Brak in Syria. He looks at some eye amulets first discovered at the site in the 1930's by Max Mallowan. He also excavates a bevel-rimmed bowl from the wall of an ancient building at the site.
These bowls which date from the 4th millennium BC are found in huge numbers at the site, he looks at how they were created and considers what they may have been used for.
