The University Hospital of Wales has the third largest emergency unit in the United Kingdom. Each week nearly 3,000 patients are treated in the Emergency Unit. The patients vary from having minor injuries to serious life-threatening conditions in resuscitation(Resus). It is a 24/7 service which is staffed by a large team of doctors and nurses specialising in emergency medicine.
