From Harry Parry to Chris Biscoe
A selection of the best in jazz music.
This week, a full range of jazz styles with an item from the forties, Harry Parry leading a small group with Doreen Villiers singing. Then it's through the fifties with Sonny Rollins, Count Basie and Joe Williams and Jacques Loussier. At the other end of the time tunnel we get to Courtney Pine who is starting out on a countrywide tour with a new album and Chris Biscoe who is playing in the Midlands with music devoted to Eric Dolphy. In complete contrast, George Huxley and Rod Mason feature with their respective bands while Shirley Horn, Barbara Jay and Marlene Ver Planck complete the singers.
