Cardinal Wolsey, Elena Baltacha and Jean Kent at 90
Mark Matthews sits in. Ipswich will honour one of its most famous sons today. A bronze statue of Cardinal Wolsey will be unveiled this lunchtime. Plus Elena Baltacha on Wimbledon.
Mark Matthews sits in on Ipswich's Charter Day as the town prepares to honour one of its most famous sons.
This year's procession will end with the official unveiling of the Cardinal Wolsey statue.
The bronze likeness will take pride of place on Curson Plain at the corner of Silent Street, opposite where Wolsey lived in his childhood. Mark hears from one of the campaigners for a permanent memorial, local historian John Blatchley and the sculptor David Annand.
We take a tour of Wolsey's Ipswich and ask if businesses feel the new attraction will bring more trade.
Suffolk-based tennis player Elena Baltacha talks about her Wimbledon and looks ahead to Andy Murray's quarter-final.
And The National Film Theatre is honouring a Suffolk film star.
Jean Kent, who lives at Westhorpe, is celebrating her 90th birthday.
She worked with some of the greats including James Mason, Laurence Olivier and Michael Redgrave, as well as comedians like Frankie Howerd.
