Monty plants out dahlias
Dahlias offer gardeners masses of dazzling late summer colour. They are tender so growing tubers in pots then planting them out into the borders ensures an early and long flowering period. Regular deadheading will prolong flowering until first frost strikes and blackens the foliage. Tubers can then be lifted and stored over winter.
