Riots across the country

There was further violence in London last night which spread across the country.

The lunchtime news from across Beds, Herts and Bucks.

The London Fire Brigade said last night was the busiest in its history and the Metropolitan Police said it was the worst in memory for looting and disorder. For the first time, the trouble spread to other cities, with serious disturbances in Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham and Liverpool. Our reporters assess the damage in London and look at how police forces in the Three Counties are offering assistance.
