The Commons Transport Committee says cuts to bus services are threatening vulnerable people and the government needs to take responsibility. The transport officer for the Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, Stephen Sleight, says the county is bucking the trent because services are being improved.
Luton Town's opening match of the season at Telford on Saturday evening has been called off. There have been safety fears due to an EDL demonstration planned for the same day.
