54 year old Steve Grant has always wanted to conduct the band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines. He was in the marines for 25 years but is now a dedicated music teacher who has inspired generations of pupils including Lauren Thornhill who thought it was about time Steve realised one of his dreams.

John turned up to one of Steve's rehearsals pretending to be there for a new documentary, but it wasn't long before he revealed that Steve was the star of this show and his musical talents were to be taken to a whole new level. Steve went to visit the marine band at their base in Scotland before taking to the "Tonight's the Night" stage, baton in hand, to conduct a rousing medley that the Proms would be proud of.
