Planting garlic
Garlic needs a cold, dormant period of 4-8 weeks to yield tasty, decent sized bulbs so it benefits from Autumn planting. Monty plants two varieties – ‘Sprint’, an old favourite, and ‘Vallelado’, one he hasn’t tried before that is particularly suited to the colder British climate.
