Joan Baker
Kim Howells visits artist and lecturer Joan Baker who remembers being taught by Welsh artist Ceri Richards at the Cardiff School of Art during the Second World War. She recalls Richards bringing in a surrealist masterpiece 'Bride of the Wind' by the German artist Max Ernst for the students to learn from. Includes views of the painting. Howells discusses Baker's career - first of all a lecturer at the Cardiff School of Art, then in later life a landscape painter producing artworks depicting the south Wales landscape.
