Is it time to start rationing water?

We are in drought. It was confirmed yesterday and it came as no real surprise. Our reservoirs are less than half full and it hardly ever rains any more.

Is it time to do something about our water use now?

Water levels are lower than they were at this time in 1976 the last truly momentous drought.

Yesterday Kent's water companies told us the most effective way to reduce water use is to get more people onto water meters. Are they right?

The Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has also been urging US to ration ourselves. At a drought summit yesterday she said "It is not just the responsibility of Government, water companies and businesses to act against drought. We are asking for the help of everyone by urging them to use less water and to start now."

Are you already rationing your water use?

Should it be voluntary or should we be forced to use less water?

How do you save water? Do you really need to bath everyday?

We speak to Gemma Gibson from Gillingham, she is a single mum who is about to lose much of the help she gets for her disabled seven year old son. We find out what happens to a family when the support disappears.

We hear your views and stories.
