A Song of Sunshine

Dr. Donald Davison, Belfast City Organist, demonstrates the sound of the Mulholland Grand Organ in the Ulster Hall, Belfast. He plays A Song of Sunshine, written by Alfred Hollins.

The Ulster Hall's Mulholland Grand Organ is one of the oldest examples of a functioning classic English pipe organ. It was given to the people of Belfast in 1862 by Andrew Mulholland, pioneer of the Belfast linen industry and former mayor of the city.Dr. Donald Davidson demonstrates its sound by performing two pieces by Alfred Hollins, one of the many illustrious composers who played the Mulholland Grand Organ. The programme opens with the Trumpet Minuet and closes with A Song of Sunshine.
