Is it time for the church to approve women bishops?
Iain Lee asks for your opinions.
The phone-in at 9, 'Is it time for the church to approve women bishops?'
Today the Church of England begins the meeting which could see it taking a historic step and creating women bishops. The law has taken 5 years of debate and compromise, and looked set to be voted through, until the Bishops made a last minute amendment. This altered clause says Parishes which do not want a woman bishop, can ask for a man who shares their beliefs in the reasons why women can't be church leaders. Such a clause means there is a chance the law may get voted out.
From 10, Frank joins Iain in the studio to discuss 'Do people write you off just because you're old?'
