Network Rail has admitted more should have been done to stop an accident last year which killed an 82 year old woman. Former actress Olive McFarland was hit by a train at the Gypsy Lane foot crossing in Needham Market last August. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch says Network Rail ignored warnings three months before the accident. Foz hears from nearby resident Maureen Simons who would like to see the crossing stay open, but with safety improvements.

Crime in Suffolk has dropped by 13 percent in the first three months of the year according to new figures from Suffolk Police. The news comes despite the force being told to slash millions from its budget. Our reporter Alison Acton speaks to Assistant Chief Constable Tim Newcomb.
