Needham Market residents say improve Gypsy Lane crossing, but don't close it
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch recommends closure of the Gypsy Lane crossing in Needham Market. It comes after 82 year old Olive McFarland was killed there last August.
Network Rail has admitted more should have been done to stop an accident last year which killed an 82 year old woman. Former actress Olive McFarland was hit by a train at the Gypsy Lane foot crossing in Needham Market last August. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch says Network Rail ignored warnings three months before the accident. Foz hears from nearby resident Maureen Simons who would like to see the crossing stay open, but with safety improvements.
