Police in Colorado, USA say a masked gunman killed 12 people and wounded about 40 when he opened fire at a midnight showing of the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.

Police in the American state of Colorado say a masked gunman killed 12 people and wounded about 40 when he opened fire at a midnight showing of the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Witnesses at the cinema in Aurora, near Denver, said a man wearing a gas mask appeared in front of the screen during the first action scene - and released a smoke canister; then the shooting started. James has more.

A former cadet from Woodbridge has received over 27 thousand pounds in compensation after suffering severe hearing loss. Storm Rae had to give up a scholarship at Sandhurst after her commanding offers ordered her to remove her ear protectors at a firing drill in Norway. Ms Rae tells James about her ordeal.

Holbrook High School has apologised to students after they failed to register them for one of their GCSEs. The school has already been placed in special measures by OFSTED. But they insist that, despite the mistake, the students will get their grades. Acting Deputy Head Nicola Shelley has been speaking to Look East's Kevin Burch.
