Jimmy Bullard to leave Ipswich Town

Lesley Dolphin sits in.

Jimmy Bullard will be leaving Ipswich Town a year into his two season contract with the club. Manager Paul Jewell says his time at Portman Road didn't work out as planned.

In the news hour from 5pm, Jimmy Bullard is leaving Portman Road. It was confirmed this morning that the 33 year old's parting company with the club just one year into the two year deal he signed last summer. Manager Paul Jewell tells 大象传媒 Radio Suffolk's Brenner Woolley that things just didn't work out during his second spell in the county.

All this week we're looking at rail services in the region, six months after Greater Anglia began running the service. If you're a regular train user, especially on the main London to Norwich line, then two of your biggest niggles could be signal failures and problems with the overhead lines. So, why do these two issues keep causing delays. Our reporter Steve Blower investigates.

Britain's sporting heroes will parade through London next month after a spectacular display at the Olympics. Team GB finished third in the medals table with twenty nine golds. London mayor Boris Johnson has called the Olympics the greatest ever. Last night's closing ceremony was watched by more than 26 million people. Key players in the organisation of the games have been talking about its long term legacy. Lesley catches up with our reporter Adam Pasternicki.

In the first hour from 4pm, Lynne Mortimer looks at what's on the box, plus a Suffolk man has found time to get back home now that the Games are over. Neil Studd is a swimming coach, but not for Team GB. He was looking after the Caribbean nation of St Lucia. Lesley catches a word with him.

After 6pm, Lesley pays tribute to the voice of darts, Sid Waddell, who died over the weekend aged 72. He had bowel cancer. His commentary was sprinkled with memorable one-liners which were often delivered with a classical twist.

There's also a chance to hear some of 大象传媒 Radio Suffolk's best bits from earlier today.
