Haverhill couple Adrian and Gillian Bayford win 拢148m Euro Millions jackpot

It's a 拢148m Euro Millions jackpot for a couple from Haverhill. Adrian Bayford runs a second-hand music shop in the town and his wife Gillian is a healthcare assistant.

Adrian Bayford and his wife Gillian have become Britain's second biggest Lottery winners. Adrian runs a second-hand music shop in Haverhill; Gillian works shifts as a healthcare assistant on a hospital children's ward. Adrian bought the ticket as a lucky dip. Our west Suffolk producer Philippa Taylor went along to find out what locals were saying about the win.

Rail passengers are facing a big rise in fares next year after a surprise jump in the rate of inflation. The Retail Price Index, which is used as the basis to calculate rail fares, increased to three-point-two per-cent last month meaning fares in England will rise by an average of six-point-two per-cent.
