The phone-in at 9, 'Is community service a good punishment?'
Figures have revealed that community service orders have failed in around 1 in every 4 cases. The statistics, obtained by the Daily Mail using the Freedom of Information Act, show that around 20,000 criminals sentenced to community service last year reoffended, while a similar number failed to complete the order. The Ministry of Justice have responded saying that "the majority of offenders successfully complete their community sentences" and that they are looking to "restore public confidence in community sentences"
