Lisa Tarbuck analyses the codes and conventions of television drama. The sequence opens with an introduction to a range of drama genres, then focuses on different aspects of the codes and conventions employed - particularly lighting and camera shots. The use of the camera is demonstrated by showing the different effects of a handheld camera on a tripod, tracking, shot size and low and high angle. Students are given a short segment for analysis themselves.
