'The Tyger' and 'The Lamb' by William Blake (analysis)
Liz Lochhead and Nigel Planer discuss the relationship between William Blake’s poems ‘The Tyger’ and ‘The Lamb’. They explore how Blake intended the poems to be complementary rather than contradictory, as two halves of a whole, perhaps symbolising the sides of God - the loving God of the New Testament versus the vengeful God of the Old Testament. This idea of opposing forces is a common theme in Blake’s writings.
