Lyminge Forest - protest against ecosystem destruction
Lyminge Forest in Kent is under threat from the development of a holiday and leisure park. Eco-warriors have moved into the forest to protest against the proposed development. The protesters are trying to save the habitat of the rare nightjar bird, which thrives in the coniferous woodland ecosystem at Lyminge. We can find out more about ecosystem changes through pollen grain analysis, which provides a record of which plants have grown in a particular area. With thanks to Clouds Hill.
