Ipswich's Landmark House given new lease of life
The county council and Suffolk Police are sharing Landmark House, the large glass building visible from the A14 at Ipswich. It's a new lease of life for the site which has been empty for years.
In the news hour from 5pm, you might not know the name Landmark House, but if you live or work near Ipswich, you've probably seen it. It's the big glass building visible from the A14 at the Whitehouse turning. It's been empty for years but now the county council and Suffolk Police have taken it on. It was officially opened today. Luke Deal was there and met up with the leader of the county council, Mark Bee, and the chairman of the Police Authority, Joanna Spicer.
A Suffolk MP has addressed a conference on using surgeons' skills to deliver better care. Dr. Dan Poulter, the MP for Central Suffolk and Ipswich North, made his first speech as a new health minister at the Ipswich event. Foz asks him if it was well received.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a ram raid in Debenham. A vehicle was used to smash through the glass doors of the sports centre on Gracechurch Street at around 2.30 this morning. Thieves tried to take a safe but it was left at the scene. Foz speaks to Inspector Tristan Pepper from Suffolk Police.
Foz also chats to sports journalist Stuart Jarrold who lost a piece of signed Beatles memorabilia which may have been worth 拢25,000.
