Battlefield photography
Early photography had developed in portrait studios with controlled lighting and long exposures. Taking large cameras and unstable chemicals onto the battlefield was exceptionally difficult. American photographer Robert Szabo joins a US Civil War battle reconstruction and demonstrates how Alexander Gardner might have worked, revealing how these amazing battlefield images were made.
