Antietam Battlefield
In September 1862, in the days following the Battle of Antietam, Alexander Gardner captured images of unspeakable horror. The first ever photographs of battlefield dead, lying as they fell. Displayed in New York, his images transformed the way Americans saw their war. Bob Zeller of the Centre for Civil War Photography joins Pulitzer Prize winning Photo Journalist David Hume Kennerly to discuss Gardner鈥檚 photography.
