Textile artist Maxine Bristow - work in progress
Textile artist Maxine Bristow describes how she gets her inspiration from repeated pattern in everyday objects, and how she has to plan and get organised before embarking on a piece. She created 1,475 button holes for one piece and explains she had to make 88 buttonholes a day to meet her deadline. She talks about how she treats the fabric with gesso, a PVA and chalk powder mix, to create a older, more lived in feeling.
