Making a moving monster
The Circo Rum Ba Ba circus has made a larger-than-life dragon designed to amaze people when it walks down the street. The dragon costume needs two people inside to make it move and walk. They have to get into the huge 'skin' in a special way to be able to carry its weight and to 'walk' comfortably and safely. The monster's mouth is worked from inside the body using a flexible bicycle brake cable to open it and bungee elastic to close it. The dragon's swivelling eyes are operated by small electric servo motors and the smoke from the dragon's mouth comes from a miniature smoke machine.
