Putting on a puppet show (pt 1/2)
At the Little Angel Puppet Theatre in London they're making new puppets for their latest show. The early stages of the design process are explained, where drawings are used to capture the character of each puppet. A puppeteer shows us three different types of puppets - a string-operated marionette, a stick-operated table top puppet and a glove puppet - and explains their different characteristics. The construction of the puppets and their costumes is shown in part two.
