Water and flooding in Bangladesh
A report about why the water in Bangladesh is essential for everyday life. The water which flows through Dhaka has always been used to bring goods into the city. Now, more roads have been built on man-made embankments. The Great Embankment was built to stop Dhaka from flooding. People have adapted their homes to cope with the flood - some homes are on stilts and some are on a raised mound. With a brief report about family life in Dhaka, including the jobs for women, fishing and harvesting jute.
