Introducing the concept of mode with a practical demonstration using a game. At the end of the game the mode number - the number which occurs most frequently - is identified. Children are playing a 'horse racing game' involving counters and the roll of two die. After each dice roll the corresponding 'horse' is moved up the board. At the end of the game the winner is identifed as the mode number as it occurred most frequently.
