Using oil in low temperatures

Can temperature affect the viscosity of oil? An experiment compares standard oil with oil specifically designed to work in low temperatures. The oil which flows through the tunnels is collected and compared. The specifically designed oil continues to flow freely while the standard oil starts to solidify at low temperatures.
