Interactive beatbox - vocal sounds and patterns
A practical demonstration of how to create vocal sounds and patterns. Performing in a rap style with a constant underlying beat, the presenters provide a clear demonstration of beatboxing.
Using a 'copy cat' strategy, students are invited to join in and make immediate responses imitating a bass drum, a high hat, a snare drum and a hum. The production of each sound is broken down into stages so students can hear and see how to produce these as accurately as possible. The three compositions are represented in graphic notation with symbols as they move across the screen. These progress from using steady beats to more complex syncopated rhythms.
