'Sunset Song'- importance of setting
Characters in a dramatised dream discuss the setting of the novel. 'Sunset Song' reflects Gibbon's own experience of life in Arbuthnott during this period of industrial change and the First World War. The setting allowed Gibbon to reflect on the theme of the impact on small communities of changes in farming.
