'Sunset Song' - character of Chris
Chris Guthrie is the main character of 'Sunset Song'. The book covers her life between the ages of 15 and 24. During this time she experiences a lifetime of events - adolescence, marriage, birth and bereavement - and the novel encourages us to share in these experiences. Events are seen from Chris' viewpoint, so that readers are party to her thoughts. Chris has admirable qualities including inner strength and humour. Through events she realistically develops as a person, making her a rounded and effective character.
