Use of the 'Welsh Not'

The 'Welsh Not' was a device used by teachers to shame school pupils out of using the Welsh language in schools throughout Wales - any child heard using Welsh in the class was made to wear a board around their neck. They passed the board onto the next child heard using the language. The child wearing the board at the end of the day was punished - either by caning or detention. This shows a reconstruction of the use of the 'Welsh Not' in Welsh classrooms.
