First transmitted in 1987, the king of the swingometer, Robert McKenzie, is remembered by friends, colleagues, politicians and pundits. From his first appearance with the fabled swingometer in 1959 to his last in 1979, it was McKenzie who often became the focal point for 大象传媒 election night coverage. The urbane and witty Canadian broadcaster is remembered here by colleagues David Dimbleby and Robin Day, fellow psephologist and statistical sparring partner David Butler and politicians including Tony Benn and former Prime Minister Harold Macmillan.
