Composing using rhythm
The process of creating a rhythm composition is explained, from the initial stages, to performing and notating the final product.
The beat and pulse should be the starting point on which composing a piece begins. There is a description of the importance of identifying signals for starting and stopping and it is explained how music can consist of just a few layers creating a thin texture, or can be built up to create a fuller texture. Graphic notation can be used to help remember ideas or they can be memorised.
