Grant Hall, who campaigns for the synthetic drug industry to be regulated, said customers should be offered advice on how to use legal highs safely, rather than the banning of 鈥榣egal highs鈥�.

鈥淲e would call on this government to look at all options but please listen to the experts and at the end of the day acknowledge that prohibition just will not work, said Mr Grant.

鈥淎ll of the government鈥檚 attempts to ban these products has proven time and time again ineffective and in fact sometimes causes more harm.鈥�
