Call to charge Robert Black with killing of Genette Tate

The father of a schoolgirl who went missing 36 years ago has called for convicted child killer Robert Black to be charged with her murder.

Genette Tate, 13, went missing in 1978 while delivering newspapers in Aylesbeare, Devon. Her body has never been found.

Detectives are being asked to consider bringing charges against convicted child killer Robert Black, who is serving four life sentences for murder.

Her father John Tate said: "I don't have the best of health, I'm determined to keep going as long as I can.

"I want to see him go to court."

Black was convicted in 1994 of the murders of Susan Maxwell, Sarah Harper and Caroline Hogg. In 2011 he was found guilty of the murder of Jennifer Cardy, who was abducted when she cycled to a friend’s house in County Antrim, in 1981.
