Transsexual woman describes 'abuse' from neighbours
A transsexual woman has described the abuse she suffered from neighbours, after deciding to undergo gender reassignment surgery later in life.
Jenny-Anne Bishop, 68, from North Wales, put off surgery to become female until 2010, so as not to impact her two children or her dying parents.
However, she said her transition was met with abuse from neighbours, with some putting "dog mess on the step" and trying to "break the door down".
But she never regretted her decision, telling the programme, "Years later I still have that great euphoria. I get up every morning thinking, fantastic, just to be me."
