Removal of Trident 'red line' for Scottish independence
Scottish independence would be the "biggest move towards nuclear disarmament the world has ever seen", SNP MP, Pete Wishart, has said.
The withdrawal of Trident nuclear missiles, currently based in the Faslane naval facility in Scotland, was "a red line" for the independence campaign he said.
Conservative MP John Stevenson said the removal of Britain's nuclear weapons from Scotland would be a "huge risk to national security" and the Yes campaign's intention to remain in the Nato military alliance meant it was "a preposterous situation they've got themselves in to".
