Alex Rainsford is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter, from Bromsgrove, whose songs have chilled out melodies with a powerful edge. Or as he says: "Think Ben Howard's passion meets Mumford & Sons' power".

Some of his recent highlights include sets at Worthy Farm's Glastonbury to Devon's Oceanfest, sharing stages with the likes of Bastille, Gabrielle Aplin & Willy Mason.

After shows in Europe and playing tour support for Brother & Bones he's hitting this year's festival season hard with his new EP 'Gone Away'.

The Theory Of Everything

The Theory Of Everything
A Hereford man has been given a prestigious prize at a glitzy ceremony in London.

Sam Bohn scooped the Music and Sound Award after composing the music to the trailer for the recent blockbuster movie The Theory of Everything.

The 27-year-old, whose love for music began at the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School, said he didn't even know he'd been nominated until he received a call from his agent.

The Voice

The Voice
Last Saturday night, millions of viewers saw go through to the live stages of The Voice on 大象传媒1 after his performance of Hozier's 'Take Me To Church' secured his place on Team Rita.

By his own admission, it wasn't his best performance and Rita said she was "disappointed".

Clifford T Ward

Clifford T Ward
Widely regarded as one of England's finest ever songwriters, this former teacher from Worcestershire was tipped to be a big star, but he preferred honing his craft at home to the rock & roll lifestyle.

Clifford T Ward is one of those rare figures in the music business - a real talent who resolutely did things his way.

On the face of it you could say it was this reluctance to play the pop star - no tours, very few interviews and public appearances - that cost him the chance to become a big star.

He had one big hit - the single Gaye - and after that produced music that was admired, but not commercially successful.

And yet John Peel was a huge fan - he signed Clifford T Ward to his short-lived Dandelion record label.

Terry Wogan has been quoted as saying that Ward's second album, Home Thoughts From Abroad, is his favourite.

The title track from that album was also one of the surprise entries in a 大象传媒 Radio 2 poll of the most popular British songs of the last 50 years.

Tonight the Robinson-Stone Brothers take to the Artrix in Bromsgrove to celebrate the life and times of Clifford T Ward.
