An Arresting Career Development
How Arjan De Zeeuw went from defending in the Premier League to defending against crime.
Arresting Development
Europe鈥檚 top football leagues are fast drawing to their conclusion, and for some this will mean the end of their playing days. Many still have the bulk of their working life ahead of them. We head to Netherlands to speak to former Premier League defender turned police detective Arjan De Zeeuw.
Lingerie to Legitimate League
Could American football in Europe be leading the way in developing the women鈥檚 game? In The United States the Legends League is the most famous version of American Football, but its name has been made by having its competitors wear scanty underwear during the game. However, ahead of the European championships, with its traditional kit, the traditional form of gridiron is making strides.
Football Inclusion
We investigate how inclusive the beautiful game really is. We hear from graduates of a programme that has the specific aim of increasing the number of black, Asian and ethnic minority people working in corporate roles within the game. (Tahiti finished fourth last time and Brazil third). We speak to former Portuguese international footballer Nuno Gomes on what it takes to transfer your skills from grass to sand.
Sporting Witness
On 4 May 1980, the death of Yugoslavian leader Marshall Tito was announced during a clash between Serbia's football powerhouse Red Star Belgrade and Croatian champions Hajduk Split. Players and fans spontaneously burst into tears and song, in an extraordinary outpouring of grief.
