Leicester's Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby is calling for urgent talks with the Department for Transport - following its decision to shelve the electrification of the Midland Mainline. Yesterday the Transport Minister Patrick McLoughlin told the Commons the electrification of the route is now being "paused." Ministers have put the blame on delays and overspending by Network Rail. These rail passengers at Leicester train station have been giving us their reaction to the news. Leicester will be hosting the Annual General Meeting of the the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain this weekend. The organisation hopes to bring safe mass-cycling to the UK - similar to countries like Denmark and the Netherlands. Glastonbury gets underway today - with Florence and the Machine the new headline act. They were moved up the bill when Foo Fighters pulled out because their lead singer Dave Grohl broke his leg falling off stage.
