A Leicestershire haulage company says the problem of illegal immigrants attempting to hide in their lorries to cross borders has been a problem for more than a decade. Managers at Stephen Sanderson Limited in Market Harborough say they even have to plan routes around it so that their drivers don't have to slow down in a hotspot area. Yesterday police found more than 300 migrants hiding in vehicles in the port, in the wake of the chaos caused by an earlier strike by cross channel ferry workers. There's bad news for bees in Leicestershire and Rutland, with a new report today revealing that numbers have declined by almost 15 percent in our area over the last year. The British Bee Association is warning that the continued decline in the bee population could be disastrous in a number of ways. Youngsters from primary schools across Leicester have been going wild in the woods this week. The Forest School initiative - run by the Wildlife Trust - gives kids the chance to find out more about the great outdoors. The well-known naturalist and TV presenter - Nick Baker - has been sharing his expertise with youngsters at the Lucas Marsh Nature Reserve at Brocks Hill Country Park in Oadby.
